Abandoned and Wrecked Vessels

About the Project

In 2018, the Build Nova Scotia Environmental Analysis & Remediation team was asked to join a provincial working group on abandoned and wrecked vessels being monitored by various departments in Nova Scotia. Build Nova Scotia was sought out based on their project management experience gained from the removal of the M.V. Miner from the shoreline of Scatarie Island. About 30 vessels were identified in varying states and the team had to provide the current condition, the location, the name and any logistical information to perform assessments on these vessels under the Transport Canada Abandoned Boat Program.
